I got another scary email from AmeriPAC a few days ago about the United Nation’s dangerous “Agenda 21”:
the UN’s Agenda 21 seeks to take 50% of American land and make it uninhabitable, untouchable by industry, andinaccessible by humans. American citizens will be moved into places called “Sustainable Human Development Zones.”
If the Senate ratifies Agenda 21, you will live, work, play, and vacation only where the United Nations allows and your main transportation would be a train…all in the name of “sustainable development” and “environmental responsibility.”
I gotta give them props for doing a good job with the scare tactics, complete with details like quotes and maps that are allegedly from the UN. I was almost motivated to actually do some research and at least see where this stuff was coming from, but I found an easy excuse not to:
While Obama and the liberal media ignore gas prices streaking to $5/gal…
That statement is not only false, but doubly false. First, gas prices are not streaking to $5/gal. They’ve been dropping for two months and the national average is now under $3.40. Given the way these scary emails like to recycle claims, I’m guessing at least parts of this email were written between January and April, when prices actually did rise from a little over $3 to almost $4.
But even when the price was rising a few months ago, that statement still wasn’t true. The “liberal media” did not ignore it, but treated us to a relentless barrage of hyped articles about how gas might hit $5, all before it even hit $4:
8 Reasons why gas will hit $5 a gallon this year (MSNBC)
Gas Prices Could Skyrocket After Iran Tensions (ABC)
$5 A Gallon For Gas? It Could Happen in 2012 (CBS)
Tensions Raise Spectre of Gas At $5 A Gallon (NYT)
If this email can’t get a basic fact right, why should I trust them with these secretive facts about “Agenda 21”?
Besides, the claims in the email are simply too scary to pass the smell test. I’m not worried about the UN and/or US forcing Americans everywhere to relocate into approved zones for the same reason I’m not worried about the government trying to take all the guns away. Americans may be pretty complacent, but there’s still a few extreme things that I’m pretty sure they would uncompromisingly resist if they ever actually happened. There’s still a few things I literally don’t believe the government has the power to do to its citizens, because they simply wouldn’t let it happen.
So, nice try, AmeriPAC, but I’m not going to click your link and “SEND FAXES TO ALL 100 SENATORS – NOW!” Next time, try to update some of your facts to at least almost kinda match reality.
Unless…This email was sent out by the UN itself, to discredit anyone who discusses Agenda 21!!
